    Definitions

    Loading Procedures

    1.Test Simulators

    Specifications: The simulator is a plastic container (such as polyethylene) of at least 473 ml (1 US liquid pint) volume, filled with a sponge material saturated with a heat transfer solution consisting of a 50/50 ±2% mixture (by volume) of propylene glycol and distilled water.

    Usage: Used as a standard measuring device in tests.

    2. Filler Packages

    Description: Filler packages used as product mass, consisting of containers with filler material that closely approximate food product characteristics.

    Placement: These packages should fill between 70% and 90% of the refrigerator's net usable volume, uniformly occupying space from front to rear without protruding beyond any load line.

    Shelf Loading: Tilt-down shelves on meat cases should be loaded with a single layer of filler packages occupying between 20% and 90% of the net usable volume.
